Bearcats shutout #11 Flagler, handing the Saints their first loss

GREENWOOD - For the first time since 2021, Lander defeated a ranked team as the Bearcats shut out the eleventh-ranked Flagler Saints Saturday afternoon 2-0 to pick up their eighth win of the season.

With no score late in the first half, Annika Seifart checked into the game and found the back of the net on a double assist by Korina Byland and Leah Hayes Coan to put Lander up 1-0. The second half was a back-and-forth battle between the two teams, but the Bearcats got an insurance goal in the 76th minute when Claire Regnault beat the Saint keeper and scored to make it a two-goal game. Lander would keep Flagler at bay for the rest of the game and hand the Saints their first loss.
