MORROW, Ga. - After a scoreless first half, Lander and Clayton State combined for four goals in the second half and finished in a 2-2 draw Wednesday afternoon.
The first half saw 13 shots between the two teams, but just two were on goal by the Bearcats. In the 62nd minute, the Lakers would take the lead on a goal by Amiah Springer-Hightower. The lead would not last long as Emma Sexton found the back of the net less than three minutes later on an assist by Maren White to tie the match at one. In the 67th minute, White would score her fourth goal of the season on an assist by Lucy Bova to give Lander their first lead of the game. The Bearcats looked to close the game out, but a Clayton State goal by Carrie Consolino with less than a minute remaining would tie the match for good.
