FRANKLIN SPRINGS, Ga. - Lander used two first-half goals to defeat Emmanuel 2-1 Saturday night in non-conference women's soccer action.
Mary Moosbrugger put the Bearcats up in the second minute of the match with a double assist from Katherine Blain and Emma Sexton. The Lions tied the game up with a goal in the 10th minute. The game remained tied until the 39th minute when Gracie Beeson scored unassisted to make it 2-1.
The Lander defense held Emmanuel to just three shots on goal. Taylor Frew made two saves in the second half to preserve the Bearcat lead and pick up the win in goal.
