GREENVILLE, S.C. – With the NCAA Div. II National Wrestling Championships just days away, the South Atlantic Conference Carolinas office announce its post-season awards on Tuesday, with the Bearcats earning numerous awards.
The No. 24 Lander wrestling team was awarded the SACC Wrestler of The Year for the second consecutive season, as Zeth Brower took home the award. Darius Parker was named the SACC Wrestler of The Year last season. Although his season was shortened due to injury, Brower finished with an overall record of 14-1 which featured finishing first at the NCAA Super Regionals at 141.
Elijah Lusk was named the SACC Freshman of The Year after going 24-5 overall. Lusk finished in second place at 133 at the NCAA Super Regionals.
Parker, Lusk and Brower were all named to the All-SACC team. Lusk and Parker were named to the All-SACC Second-Team while Brower was named to the All-SACC First-Team.
The NCAA Div. II National Wrestling Championships are set to run from March 11 through March 12 with Brower, Lusk, Parker and Cameron Coffman representing the Bearcats.
