Greenwood, S.C. - The Bearcats defended home court on Wednesday afternoon shutting out North Greenville 7-0 to earn a 13-4 record this Spring.
Lander won every doubles match against NGU. The No. 1 Doubles team of
Emily Ineson and
Hannah Panchal and No. 3 Doubles team of
Raquel Acco and
Shea Connelly both had 6-1 victories.
Roberta Armani and
Chiara Gerbino didn't drop a set in No. 2 Doubles, topping thier opponents 6-0.
Gerbino was pushed to extra sets in No. 1 Singles but ultimately won with set scores of 6-3, 3-6 [10-5].
Maranda Adiar and Ineson only dropped one set in No. 2 and No. 4 Singles, defeating their opponents 6-1, 6-0 and 6-0, 6-1 respectively. Panchal gave the Bearcats another point in No. 3 Singles with 6-1, 6-3 triumphs. Armani and Connelly held No. 5 and 6 Singles. Armani came out on top with 6-2, 7-5 sets, while Connelly had two 6-0 shutouts.
The next match for the Bearcats is against Augusta on Saturday, April 2nd at 1 p.m, where Lander is looking to keep the undefeated home streak alive at the
Joe Cabri Tennis Center.Â
