GREENWOOD. - A 9-0 run in the first half blew open a 2-1 game as Lander went on to defeat Catawba 18-8 in women's lacrosse action.

Emmy Peterson scored the first two goals of the game for the Bearcats to give them the lead. After A Catawba goal to make it a 2-1 game, Lanie Graves would score on an assist by Alyssa Suchan and 40 seconds later Melissa Clapsaddle scored to make it 4-1. Peterson scored her third goal of the period on an assist by Lauren Fallow. Mickey Burnett would score with three minutes remaining, and Peterson found Suchan for the final goal of the period as Lander took a 7-1 lead. |

30 seconds into the period, Peterson connected with Clapsaddle to make it 8-1. Burnett added two goals in less than a minute to stretch the Bearcat lead to nine. Izzy Olsen score at the 11:38 mark to cap a 9-0 run by the Bearcats and mat it a 10 goal lead. After Catawba made it a 11-2, Fallow would score her first goal of the game to make it 12-2. |

Suchan score two more goals early in the period to make it a 12 goal game. Catawba answered with two goals to cut the deficit back to 10, but Peterson scored her fourth goal of the game to make it 15-4. |
