Central, S.C. - The Bearcats defeated Southern Wesleyan on Wednesday afternoon with a 7-0 shutout. This marks the eighth victory this season for Women's tennis, marking a four game win streak.
Lander won every doubles match played. Doubles No. 1 participants,
Emily Ineson and
Mille Elsborg, were victorious with a score of 6-2. Doubles No. 2
Raquel Acco and
Hannah Panchal and No. 3 Doubles
Chiara Gerbino and
Roberta Armani, both had 6-1 wins.
Singles No. 1 was served by Gerbino in two sets of 6-2, 6-3. Maranda Adair won No. 1 Singles in a 6-1 set along with a 4-1 retirement. Acco completed No. 3 Singles with 6-2, 6-1 sets, followed by Armani in No. 4 Singles winning 6-2, 6-4. Panchal and
Shea Connelly wrapped up the afternoon in No. 5 and No. 6 Singles. Panchal went 6-4, 6-0 and Connelly won 6-2, 6-3.
The Bearcats head to Orlando, Fla. during Spring Break to compete starting with a March 7th match against Northwood.
