MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. - The Lander University Cheer team finished first in the Cheer Ltd's CANAM competition on Friday.

The Bearcats had the highest difficulty and technique scores to secure the first-place finish of the four teams in Lander's division. The teams were judged on stunts, pyramids, tosses, standing tumbling, running tumbling, jumps, collegiate image, choreography, and overall effect. 

This was Lander's first competition of the season. The Bearcats will next head to Daytona, Fla.
