GREENWOOD – The Lander University cheerleading team recorded a third-place finish in the Virtual Intermediate All-Girl Division II Finals at the 2021 NCA & NDA Collegiate Cheer & Dance Championships. 

The Bearcats finished fourth in the prelims, but improved their stunts score from a 3.00 to a 4.20 and saw their pyramids score rise to 4.00 from a 3.20. The improvements helped Lander move ahead of West Liberty, who fell from third in the prelims to fourth in the final event. Tampa captured the title with Pittsburgh Johnstown finishing second. 

Tryouts for the Lander cheer and dance squads will be held on April 25th.
