GREENWOOD – The Lander men's basketball team will look to make a run in the Peach Belt Conference Tournament as the No. 6 seed, as it travels to battle Georgia College on Tuesday in the quarterfinals.

STORYLINES
- The Bearcats are coming off a big win against No. 21 Flagler at Horne Arena on Saturday.
- Lander closed it's season out with its second win against a ranked team this season. The Bearcats had previously defeated then No. 12 Augusta at Horne Arena on January 12 88-81.
- Defeating Flagler 74-66, DeShundre Rucker led the Bearcats with 18 points. He went 8-of-11 from the field and had three rebounds as well.
- DaJuan Moore scored 15 points while bringing in 19 rebounds along with three assists and one steal.
- Moorer was recently named the PBC Player of The Week after averaging 14.5 points per game, 13.5 rebounds per game, 2.5 assists per game and 1.5 steals per game.
- Lander will be taking the No. 3 seeded Georgia College Bobcats on Tuesday.
- The Bearcats will be looking for revenge after losing to the Bobcats on the road 58-53 the last time the two sides met on February 16.
- Lander returns to the PBC Tournament after missing out last season. The last time in, Lander won it all in 2020 by a final score of 76-73 over Columbus State at Horne Arena.
- Lander and Georgia College are both in the top-five for 3-point shooting percentage. Lander is third with a .351 percentage while Georgia College is fifth with a .349 shooting percentage.
- Georgia College has turned into one of the premier defensive teams in the PBC, allowing the second lowest points per game with 66.9 per game. Lander allows the fourth fewest points per game with just 68.5 per game.
- Jordan Thomas is the second leading scorer in the PBC this season with 17.2 points per game.
- Lander is looking for its first road victory against Georgia College since winning 83-65 on February 25, 2015.
- Nigel Colvin is leading the Bearcats with 11 points per game. Deandre Robinson is second on the team with 10.8. Jared Sherfield, Moorer and Dominic Stanford are all close to double figures in scoring with 9.7, 9.4 and 9.2 points per game.
- Sherfield also leads the Bearcats in rebounds per game with 6.1, assists per game with 3.6 and steals per game with 1.4. Moorer leads the Bearcats in blocks per game with 1.0 per game.

- Georgia College comes into this match with a 21-6 overall record and a 13-5 conference record. The Bobcats finished the season winning five of their last six games, with a 84-82 overtime victory over Columbus State to conclude the regular season. The only loss in the last six games was to Flagler. Georgia College fell in a tight 74-70 contest.
- Thomas is the Bobcats leading scorer while Wesley Simpson is second with 13.9 points per game.
- Simpson is the team's leader in rebounds per game with 6.5 and assists per game with 3.7 while Thomas is the leader with 1.4 steals per game.
- The winner of this game will face either Flagler or North Georgia. The semifinals and finals will be hosted at the highest remaining seed.
