GREENWOOD – The Lander men's basketball team looks to return to form as it returns to Finis Horne Arena to host Young Harris on Wednesday, January 2.

STORYLINES
- The Bearcats are coming off a loss to No. 23 Flagler on the road, losing 81-70.
- A slow first half stalled momentum for Lander, with the Bearcats only scoring 29 points compared to the 45 from the Saints.
- Lander did wake up in the second half, outscoring Flagler 41-36 in the second frame.
- Dominic Stanford led the Bearcats in scoring with 19 points. He also had four rebounds and four assists.
- Jared Sherfield was close behind with 19 points and eight rebounds.
- Lander is currently seventh in the PBC while Young Harris is last with a 4-16 record and a 1-10 conference record.
- The Mountain Lions and Bearcats are currently second and fourth in the PBC in made 3-pointers per game. Young Harris makes 10.6 3's per game while Lander makes 9.3. Young Harris is currently 15th in the country for made 3-pointers per game while Lander is 41st. Georgia College leads the conference with 10.7 made 3's per game and is 13th in the country.
- Young Harris is however allowing opponents to shoot 48.1 percent from the field, the worst percentage among PBC teams.
- This will be the 16th meeting between the two sides, with the Bearcats holding a 9-6 edge over the Mountain Lions.
- Lander has won the last five meetings and holds a 7-0 record at home against Young Harris.
- The last time Lander lost was in a 118-103 thriller at Young Harris on December 13, 2018.
- The Bearcats would respond with a 128-121 epic at Horne Arena on January 19, 2019. The 249 combined points still stands as the most combined points in PBC history.
- Deandre Robinson is one of four Bearcats to average double figures in scoring. His 11.9 points per game lead the team. Nigel Colvin, Stanford and Sherfield join the ranks as well.
- Sherfield is also the team's leader in rebounds per game (5.9), assists per game (3.5) and steals per game (1.3). DaJuan Moorer leads the team in blocks per game with 1.1.
- The Mountain Lions are coming off a close 79-76 win against Georgia Southwestern on January 29. The win against the Hurricanes stopped an 11-game losing streak. The last win for Young Harris before that was against Emmanuel where the Mountain Lions won 103-84.
- Josh Petteno led Young Harris with27 points off a 6-of-7 day from beyond the arc.
- Leny Pradia had eight points and 10 assists against GSW.
- Karl Chavis leads the Mountain Lions with 15.4 points per game. Carl Clevland and Pradia join Chavis in double-figure scoring this season.
- Cleveland leads YHC in rebounds per game with 7.1 and ranks in the top-10 among PBC players this season.
- Carter Berish leads the way with 3.8 assists per game, Chavis is the leader in steals with 1.2 per game and Caleb Towns is the leader in blocks per game with 0.9.
- Lander stays at Horne Arena for its next contest, as it takes on USC Aiken on Saturday.
