GREENWOOD – Dominic Stanford scored 25 points while Connor McKay added a career-high 17 points as the Lander Bearcats passed the 100-point mark for the third time this season, beating Morris College 105-42 Wednesday night at Horne Arena.
Lander stayed unbeaten at home, improving to 6-1 on the season. The Hornets fell to 0-6.
The Bearcats passed the 100-point mark for the second straight game after scoring 106 versus King on Sunday.
Lander had seven dunks in the game, including three by McKay. The Bearcats were also sizzling from behind the 3-point line, making 18 shots from behind the arc with an especially high percentage in the first half.
The Blue and Gold distributed 25 assists, forced 22 Morris turnovers and out-rebounded the visitors 60-36.
Stanford made 9 of 11 shots from the floor including six of eight from long range while also pacing Lander with 12 rebounds.
McKay hit six of nine shots while leading the Bearcats with three steals.
Jared Sherfield also added a double-double with 10 points and 10 rebounds for the Blue and Gold.
Tommy Moore contributed 11 points and four assists for Lander while Deandre Robinson added nine points and a team-high five assists. Chandler Lindsey also scored nine points while Ajang Aguek contributed three blocked shots for the Bearcats.
Marquez Terry paced Morris with 17 points and seven rebounds. AJ Vaught added 10 points for the visitors.
The Bearcats had a 20-9 lead at the first media timeout with 14:21 left in the first half. Jaylon Pugh made two 3s while Stanford added another for a 9-2 advantage. Ajang Aguek glided in for a layup on Moore's third assist of the game, then Moore hit a short jumper and a driving layup. Stanford added a put-back layup and a trey as Lander reached the 20-point mark.
McKay and Robinson added 3s as the Bearcats were 10 for 13 from the floor and led 26-10 with 13 minutes left.
Sebastian Augustave hit a 3, McKay collected a back-court steal and threw down a two-handed dunk, McKay dunked again off a feed from Robinson, Augustave hit another 3, and Stanford added a trey making it 42-16 with 8:26 to go.
Stanford's breakaway one-handed dunk, two more baskets from Moore, and Nigel Colvin's 3 from the left corner pushed the Blue and Gold past the 50-point mark, making it 51-21 with 4:38 left.
Lindsey collected Lander's fourth dunk of the half and Stanford made a 3 from the top of the key as the Bearcats reached 60 points with one minute to go. Lander led 60-26 at halftime on 63 percent shooting from the floor.
Sherfield had three baskets including a dunk while Stanford made his fourth 3 of the game as the Blue and Gold led 71-26 with just over 16 minutes to go.
Robinson made a 3 from the left corner, McKay drove past a defender for a one-handed dunk, and then McKay drained a 3 as the Bearcat lead grew to 81-26 inside the 13-minute mark.
Sherfield's windmill dunk off a turnover made it 89-32 with 9:49 left. Lander passed 90 points on McKay's free throws, upping the lead to 91-32 at the 8:50 mark.
Lindsey's 3 from the right side gave the Bearcats a 100-42 advantage with 1:53 left. Samuel Perry caught a lob pass from Lindsey for a layup and Robinson added a 3 to complete the scoring.
