GREENWOOD - Lander scored two late goals to defeat Young Harris Wednesday night in Peach Belt action.
Despite outshooting the Mountain Lions 7-2 in the first half, neither team could find the net, and the game was scoreless heading into halftime. Finally, in the 71st minute, Mary Moosbrugger drove through the Young Harris defense and blasted a shot past the keeper to put the Bearcats up 1-0. Lander would get an insurance goal when Claire Regnault took advantage of a misplay by the Mountain Lion keeper in the 78th minute.
The Bearcat defense held Young Harris to just four shots, and Taylor Frew made two saves in goal for Lander.
