GREENWOOD – After a well-deserved road victory at Clayton State on Monday, the Lander men's basketball team returns to Horne Arena to host Georgia College on Wednesday at 6:30 pm.

- The Bearcats are coming off a 79-72 victory at Clayton State on Monday.
- Tommy Moore led the Bearcats with a career-high 19 points.
- He becomes the eighth Bearcat to lead the team in scoring this season in a game.
- Lander also saw yet another game that featured four or more players with 10 or more points.
- Jared Sherfield, Dominic Stanford and Nigel Colvin joined Moore in double figures in scoring.
- Lander has seen 10 games with four or more players in double-figures in scoring.
- Sherfield also surpassed the 500-career point mark with his 15 points against the Lakers.
- DaJuan Moorer hit 100 career assists after the win at Clayton State on Monday.
- Lander is now 2-0 against the Lakers, as the Bearcats won at Horne Arena 71-67 on January 15.
- January 15 was also the last home contest for the Bearcats, with the last three games played on the road.
- The Bearcats have been stellar on their home court, with a 7-1 home record and winners of their last seven at Horne Arena.
- Monday's road win was the first for Lander since winning 80-58 at Claflin on November 29.
- Lander has won the last three home meetings against the Bobcats, with the last loss coming on Nov. 27, 2017, when Lander fell 68-67. The Bearcats are 17-10 all-time at home against Georgia College.
- Moorer posted a double-double in the last meeting between these two sides. He finished with 18 points and 12 rebounds in a 69-66 road loss to the Bobcats last season. Sherfield was second on the team in scoring behind Moorer with 11 points and added in three rebounds, four assists and two steals.
- Lander continues to be one of the top defensive teams in the PBC and country this season. The Bearcats are third in the PBC in scoring defense and are currently 56th in Div. II. They are also fourth in the PBC and 47th in Div. II in scoring defense.
- Lander continues to see three players averaging double figures in scoring this season. Deandre Robinson leads the way with 12 points per game. Colvin is second with 10.9 points per game and Sherfield has moved to third, now averaging 10.1 points per game.
- Sherfield is also the team's leader in rebounds with 5.8 per game and assists with 3.6 per game.
- Robinson leads the team in steals per game with 1.3 while Moorer leads the way in blocks per game with 1.2.
- Among the PBC top scorers, Colvin ranks among the top-25 with his 10.9 points per game. He's also in the top-10 for made 3pt FG with 2.1 per game.
- Sherfield is in the top-15 with his 5.8 rebounds per game. He's also in the top-10 for total assists (62) and assists per game (3.6).
- Moorer is in the top-10 in blocks in the PBC with 19 total and his 1.2 per game.
- Georgia College is currently 14-3 overall and 6-2 in the PBC.
- Before losing to then #12 Augusta, Georgia College had won its last eight games. The Bobcats are on a two-game winning streak after falling to North Georgia 88-73 on January 15. They've defeated Young Harris on the 19th and Clayton State on the 22nd.
- Jordan Thomas leads Georgia College in scoring with 16.9 points per game. He's currently tied for fifth with Dontevius Tatum of Georgia Southwestern for points per game in the PBC. Wesley Simpson is close behind with 14.4 points per game,
- Simpson is also the teams leading rebounder with 6.2 rebounds per game along with leading the Bobcats in assists per game with 4.2. Thomas acts as the team's leader in steals with 1.8 per game while Luke Chism leads the squad in blocks per game with 0.8.
- Lander hits the road for its next contest, as the Bearcats travel to the Sunshine State to battle Flagler on January 29.
