Game Recap: Women's Soccer |

Women's soccer picks up another home victory - wins 6-0

GREENWOOD – The Lander women's soccer team earned its second consecutive home victory of the season with a 6-0 thrashing of Southern Wesleyan at Van Taylor Stadium.

Lander moves to 2-0-1 while Southern Wesleyan drops to 0-2-1.

The Bearcats got the game started off with the game-winning goal from Gracie Beeson off a pass from Mia Piazza in the 18th minute of action. Lander would up the ante with a goal in the 22nd minute from Romie Llewellyn to take a 2-0 edge into the half.

The Blue and Gold held the Warriors to zero shots in the first half while attempting eight of their own.

Maren White scored her third of the season to put Lander up 3-0 in the 41st minute while Mary Moosbrugger scored off an assist from Beeson to make it a 4-0 contest in the 53rd minute.

Emilee Moberg and Annika Seifart tucked away the final two goals in the 76th and 80th minute of action to conclude the Bearcat scoring.

Both Sarah Owen and Taylor Frew appeared in net, with neither facing a shot.

The Bearcats are back at home on Sunday as they host Auburn-Montgomery for a 1 pm start.
