McCormick, S.C. – The Bearcats closed the second day of the Savannah Lakes Invitational in fifth place on Tuesday at the Monticello Golf Course.
Limestone didn't relinquish the lead having a tournament showing of 572 in total team score. Columbus State and Carson-Newman followed in second and third with 586 and 593 team scores respectively. Lander ended the day with a tournament team score of 598, after a 292 score on the day, which was their lowest single round score since 2012.
Caroline Hardee had another strong showing and finished at two-under-par, making the all-tournament team with a third-place tie.
Hannah Stephenson tied for 25th, shooting seven-over-par.
Gracie McCoy and
Ella Nilsson rounded out the top-40. McCoy tied for 31st shooting eight-over-par, and Nilsson in 35th shooting nine-over-par.
Alayna Fortenberry finished tied for 52nd at 13-over-par.
Competing as individual players for Lander,
Victoria Callahan tied for 46th, shooting 11-over-par, followed by
Caitlyn Cash with a 13-over-par performance, tying at 52nd.
Emily Beiers and
Chloe Hiott had 16 and 17-over-par showings respectively.
Elizabeth Bradley rounded out the individual competitors for the Bearcats shooting 22-over-par.
The Bearcats are back in action next week traveling to Salisbury, N.C. for the Patsy Rendleman Invitational on October 4-5.
