GREENWOOD – The Lander women's soccer team kicked off its conference schedule with a bang behind Maren White's two-goal performance against Georgia Southwestern on Saturday.
Lander moves to 3-1-1 overall and 1-0-0 in the PBC while GSW falls to 4-2-0 and 0-1-0 in the PBC.
With the win, Lander has won the last 15 meetings between the two sides.
The Bearcats handled the Hurricanes, allowing not a single shot to be attempted. Lander saw eight of their 19 shots go on goal.
White first found the back of the net for Lander in the 15th minute of play on an assist from Kelcie Fisher. Her second goal of the game came in the 55th minute off a cross from Ashley Euerle.
Sarah Owen earned her third clean sheet of the season and is 3-1-1 in net this season for Lander.
The Bearcats return to Van Taylor Stadium on September 22 to host Limestone.
