GREENWOOD – After a much-needed win on the road against North Georgia to begin conference action, the Lander men's soccer team heads to Due West, S.C., to battle the Flying Fleet of Erskine on Saturday.

STORYLINES
- The Bearcats moved to 1-0 in the PBC with a thrilling 3-2 win over North Georgia.
- Lander began the match up 1-0 after an own goal put in by a North Georgia player off a corner kick from Tom Marriott in the first half. The Nighthawks came back with a pair of goals to go up 2-1 while Marriott equalized the half with his sixth goal of the season. Marriott was once again involved with a goal. Sending a free-kick into the box, he found Max McNulty for the game-winning goal in the second half.
- Lander is now 11-0-1 in PBC opening matches since 2010, 16-4-2 since 2000 and 24-5-2 since 1991.
- The Bearcats are now 10-1-2 against North Georgia since 2010.
- The Bearcats are eighth in the nation and second in the PBC for total goals with 13. Midwestern State leads the nation with 18 while Young Harris leads the PBC with 14.
- In five games played and started, Marriott leads the Bearcats in goals (6) and Points (14). McNulty is second on the team in goals (4) and points (8). Marco Gueli and Kevin Rubaszewski are tied for third in points with four. Both have one goal and two assists so far this season.
- Marriott is currently third in the nation for goals scored and first in the PBC. He is also fourth in the country for points and leads the PBC in that category as well.
- Erskine is coming into this contest 0-4-0.
- In their four games this season, the Flying Fleet have been outscored 14-3.
- They've also lost to a pair of PBC teams, with a 2-1 loss against North Georgia to begin the season and a 2-0 loss to Clayton State shortly after.
