ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. – The Lander volleyball team lost 3-0 at Flagler on Saturday afternoon. Set scores were 25-14, 25-20, 25-12. 

Deona Mims tallied a team-high seven kills for the Bearcats, followed by six from Christina Aguayo and four for Maya Walker. Madilyn Reed recorded 18 assists and Aguayo led the Bearcats with 12 digs. 

Lander trailed 13-7 midway through the second set, but used a kill from McCayla Willingham and two service aces from Hallie Huth to spur an 8-1 run and take a 15-14 lead. From there, the lead changed hands three times and Mims delivered a kill to tie the score at 20-20. However, the Saints closed the set with five consecutive points and took set three to earn the sweep. 

The Bearcats will play at home for the first time in two weeks on Tuesday as Lander hosts Young Harris at 6:00 p.m. in Finis Horne Arena.
