GREENWOOD – The Lander baseball team will conclude its 2021 season with a three-game home series against the USC Aiken Pacers on April 23 and 25 at Dolny Stadium.

STORYLINES
- Although falling in 8-6 to Georgia Southwestern in game three of the series, the Bearcats earned the series win after winning the first two games 5-1 and 7-6.
- This is the first time the Bearcats have won back-to-back series since defeating Claflin and Columbus in the first two series of the season.
- Marshall Thompson tied the program record for most strikeouts in a single game after striking out 13 in the first game against the Hurricanes. He has tied this record once this season already, as he struck out 13 in six innings against Claflin on Feb. 12.
- Through 36 games the Bearcats have scored 278 runs, are hitting .282 as a team, have a .385 on-base percentage and have a slugging percentage of .443.
- Roury Glanton is coming into the series with a team-high 51 hits, and the sixth most in the PBC this season. Glanton is second on the team in doubles (9) and triples (3) while leading the team with 11 home run, 33 RBI, a batting average of .347, an on-base percentage of .434 and a slugging percentage of .673.
- Mason Streater is second on the team in total hits with 44. Streater leads the team with 10 doubles. He also had five home runs, 22 RBI along with a .317 batting average, a .410 on-base percentage and a .496 slugging percentage.
- Bo Richey leads the team in triples with five so far this season.
- The Bearcats rank among the top-five in the PBC in hits (5th), doubles (5th), triples (1st), home runs (5th) and RBI (4th).
- Thompson leads the Bearcats with a 7-3 record this season. He also leads the pitching staff with two complete games, 69.1 innings of work and 89 strikeouts. Thompson has a K per 9 ratio of 11.55 and an ERA of 4.28. His 89 k's this season leads the PBC and is third among all Div. II pitchers.
- Thompson is the 11th pitcher in Bearcats history to strike out 80 or more batters in a season. If he were to strike out 11 or more Pacers he would become the first Bearcat since Will Jones in 2016 to strike out 100 or more batters in a season.
- The Pacers are 19-14 overall and have won their last four games.
- After winning a non-conference battle with Georgia College 13-4 on April 13, the Pacers swept Young Harris in its most recent series.
- Aiken has two batters with 40 or more hits this season, as Morgan Hyde leads the squad with 43. He also has seven doubles, two tripled, one home run and 23 RBI. Jeff Cyr has a team-best .327 batting average along with 10 doubles. Jackson Hannon leads the Pacers in home runs with six.
- Daniel Wiggins and Alex Stobert have four wins on the bump this season for the Pacers. Wiggins has a 3.72 ERA in 10 appearances and nine starts. He's pitched 55.2 innings of work while allowing 23 earned runs, walking 11 and striking out 34. Lindsey Robinson Jr. leads the Pacers in strikeouts with 50 on the season. In 10 starts he has a 5.17 ERA and is 1-3 this season.
