STORYLINES
- The Bearcats will take on the Hurricanes of Georgia Southwestern for a three-game series on April 18 and 19.
- Lander is coming off a 17-3 defeat to Wingate on April 13. Evan Harold brought all three runs home for the Bearcats in the first inning with a three-run home run. Lander is now 0-2 against Wingate this season. The Bulldogs defeated Lander earlier in the season 8-3.
- As a team, the Bearcats are hitting .283 with an on-base percentage of .386 and a slugging percentage of .450. They have also hit 37 home runs.
- Roury Glanton had hit 11 of those home runs. He is one of two Bearcats this season to have 40 or more hits. Glanton has 47 hits, nine doubles, three triples and 33 RBI. He leads the squad with a .346 batting average.
- Mason Streater is the other Bearcat to have 40 hits this season. He also has 10 doubles and five home runs along with 22 RBI. Streater has a .341 Batting average, a .435 on-base percentage and a .540 slugging percentage.
- Georgia Southwestern is coming into this series after going 1-3 against Columbus State. The Hurricanes lost the last game of the series 23-4. They lost the first game 6-4 while winning the second game of the series 7-6.
- As a team, GSW is hitting .278 and has an on-base percentage of .390 and a slugging percentage of .440.
- The Hurricanes have two players with 40 or more hits so far this season. Jonathan Martin leads the team with 47 hits, 12 doubles, two triples and 12 home runs. He also has 35 RBI along with a batting average of .382.
- Miles Hartsfield has 41 hits along with three doubles and three home runs. He's second on the team with a .375 batting average and had a .511 on-base percentage.
- Jared Donalson and Tucker Smith both have four wins for the Hurricanes this season. Donalson is 4-1 while Smith is 4-2 and has thrown three complete games. The two combined have only allowed 34 earned runs and have struck out 98 batters.
