Women's golf prepares for the PBC Championship

GREENWOOD – The Lander women's golf team is set to travel to St. Augustine, Fla., as it competes in the PBC Championship.

STORYLINES

  • The Bearcats will compete at the Slammer & Squire-World Golf Village from April 16 through the 18. The three-day tournament will see the teams play a round per day.
  • The 18-hole course stretches 6,939 yards.
  • Hannah Stephenson was recently named to the PBC All-Conference second team. Stephenson leads the Bearcats in stroke average and is third in the PBC with an average of 75.6. She shot the fourth-lowest round in the conference when she scored a 69 at the LeeAnn Memorial this fall. During the LeeAnn Memorial, Stephenson helped Lander capture the fifth-lowest team round in the conference with a 296. The junior has finished in the top-10 six times this season along with two top-five finishes and finished first at the Lady Cougar Invitation in early March.
  • Lander has finished in the top-five as a team three times this season. The Bearcats finished fifth at the LeeAnn Noble Memorial and Argonaut Invitational while finishing first at the Lady Cougar Invitational.
  • The Bearcats finished sixth in the last PBC Championship held in 2019.
