STORYLINES

• The Bearcats lost to the UNC Pembroke Braves in three straight games. The closest Lander came to a victory was in game two where it lost 15-14 to the Braves.
• Senior Roury Glanton was a constant force for the Blue and Gold. He compiled six hits, eight RBI with two doubles, three home runs and five runs in the series against UNC Pembroke.
• After the three losses, Lander is now 14-11 overall and an even 10-10 in the PBC. The Bearcats are now in eighth place, but only a few games back of fourth place Columbus State who is 9-7 in the PBC.
• Glanton continues to be one of the leaders offensively for the Bearcats. The senior leads the Blue and Gold in hits (39), triples (3), home runs (9), RBI (29), batting average (.368) and slugging percentage (.755). Glanton is also tied for the team lead In doubles with junior Mason Streater.
• Senior Ward Betts and Streater are tied for second on the team with 34 hits each. Betts also has six doubles, one triple and two home runs along with 19 RBI. He's hitting .362 and has an on-base percentage of .464.
• Along with his 34 hits and eight doubles, Streater has four home runs and 19 RBI. He's hitting .366 and has an on-base percentage of .464.
• Grad student Mike Fitschen is the only other Bearcat with 30 or more hits, as he has 32 so far this season.
• The pitching staff took a big hit against the Braves as they allowed 42-runs over the three games against UNC Pembroke.
• Grad students Marshall Thompson and Justin Walker are the only two Bearcats to pitch more than 40 innings, with Thompson dealing 47.1 and Walker dealing 41.2. Thompson leads the starters with an ERA of 4.18 along with striking out 62 while allowing 22 earned runs this season.
• Redshirt senior Praise Thorsen has been a go-to option out the pen, striking out 24 in 16 innings of work through 11 appearances. Redshirt juniors Davis Agle and Davis Cunningham have provided stellar support for the Bearcats this season, with Agle dealing 14.1 innings and striking out 12 to go along with his ERA of 3.14 while Cunningham has struck out 18 in eight appearances.
• North Greenville has won its last three games and is 7-3 in the last 10 games it's played. They most recently swept Salem University, 22-4,16-1 and 20-2.
• After playing Lander, the Crusaders will travel to Barton for a pair of doubleheaders on April 2 and 3.
• The Crusaders currently have seven players hitting .300 or better and two of those are hitting .400 or better. Marek Chlup and Ethan Stringer are both hitting above .410, with the pair combining for 54 runs, 67 hits, 12 doubles, two triples, 11 home runs and 46 RBI.
• John Michael Faile has brought in 40 RBI for the Crusaders this season while hitting .379 in 24 games. He also has 36 hits, seven doubles and 10 home runs.
• Zach Taflieri is 5-0 this season through seven starts and appearances. He's dealt one complete game along with owning an ERA of 1.88 and a WHIP of 0.81.
• The Bearcats return home to Dolny Stadium for a three-game series against Young Harris beginning on April 2.
