GREENWOOD – After winning 2-of-3 games against Francis Marion, the Lander baseball team is set to travel to face North Georgia this Friday and Saturday for a three-game series.

STORYLINES
- The Bearcats went 3-1 last week with a non-conference victory over Belmont Abbey and a pair of wins against Francis Marion.
- Junior Mason Streater has recorded multiple hits in six straight games along with going 4-for-4 with three RBI in the last game against Francis Marion. He's also on an 11-game hitting streak dating back to February 16 against Wingate.
- Senior Roury Glanton is currently leasing the Bearcats in hits with 28. He also leads the Blue and Gold in doubles with 6, triples with three, home runs with 6, RBI with 18 and tied for second in stolen bases with four. Glanton is also second on the squad in batting average behind Streater with a .424 average along with an OBP of. 506 and slugging percentage of .879.
- Along with his hitting streak, Streater is second on the team in hits with 27 along with being tied for second in doubles with five. He's tied for third on the team in RBI with 13 and has walked 12 times. Streater is leading the Bearcats in batting average with a .435 average along with an OBP of .521 and a slugging percentage of .613.
- Streater, Glanton and senior Ward Betts are all among the top-10 in the PBC for batting average. Glanton is also tied for first in hits with 28 while Streater is tied for third with 27 and Betts is tied for ninth with 24.
- Glanton is also currently tied for sixth in the PBC for doubles, tied for first in triples, tied for second in home runs with six and seventh in the conference in RBI with 18.
- Lander is second in the PBC as a team in batting average with a collective .309. The Bearcats are also second in the PBC in total hits with 178, second in doubles with 35, tied for third in triples with four, third in home runs with 18, second in walks with 91 and third in OBP with .422.
- Grad student Marshall Thompson leads the team in wins with four. In his seven appearances, the righty has gone 4-2 while pitching 34 innings of work. Thompson has only allowed 15 earned runs and has a K per 9 of 22.65. He is currently tied for first for the most wins this season among PBC pitchers along with being second in the PBC for innings pitched with 24 and strikeouts with 44.
- Junior Carson Schlegel is second on the team in wins and has a 3-0 record through five appearances. Schlegel has delt 22 innings of work while allowing 13 earned runs and has stuck out 23 batters.
- Grad student Justin Walker is 2-0 this season with 27.2 innings of work and seven appearances. He's allowed 19 earned runs while striking out 33.
- As a team, the Bearcats are second in the PBC in ERA with a 4.53. Lander has also walked the fourth-fewest batters this season with 58 and is fourth in total strikeouts with 163. Hitters are also only hitting .256 against the Bearcats, the third-lowest in the conference.
- The Nighthawks are coming off a three-game sweep of Augusta where they won 10-5,7-3,7-3. North Georgia is currently on a four-game winning streak after taking the last game of the series against Georgia Southwestern on March 7.
- As a team, the Nighthawks are hitting .298, the fourth-best in the PBC. North Georgia is tied with Lander for the second-most hits in the PBC along with being first in the PBC in doubles with 41, first in home runs with 32, first in RBI with 168 and first in slugging percentage with a .538 percentage.
- Brady Eeles leads North Georgia in hits with 25 and batting average with an average of .391. He also has four doubles, one triple and one home run. Nick Levensteins is tied for the most doubles with Bill LeRoy with eight while Andres Perez has the most home runs with eight.
- Cade Heil has recorded the most wins on the pitching staff with a 4-0 record through six starts. Heil has thrown 30 innings while giving up 22 earned runs and striking our 21. Hitters however are hitting .317 against him. Parker Morrison is 3-1 on the season and has dealt three complete games while fanning 59 opposing hitters in 41.1 innings of work. Batters are hitting just .205 against Morrison while he's allowed just 16 earned runs.
- The last time these two sides faced each other was at the end of the 2019 season. The Bearcats went 1-2 against the Nighthawks in that series, winning game two 7-5.
- Lander travels to Augusta to face the Jaguars. They'll play a single game on March 23 at Jaguar Field before playing a doubleheader at SRP Park on March 24.
