GREENWOOD – The Lander women's tennis team fell to No. 13 North Georgia 6-1 Sunday afternoon at the Joe Cabri Tennis Center.

Lander moves to 4-4 overall and 1-1 in the PBC while North Georgia advances to 5-0 overall and 2-0 in the PBC.

The Bearcats began the match losing the doubles point 2-1. The Pairing of senior Lindsey Wiggins and senior Kayleigh Hahn won the third flight doubles 7(5)-6.

In the only point the Bearcats earned, freshman Chiara Gerbino had to battle through three sets, winning 6-3,4-6,10-5 to clinch the victory.

The Bearcats return to action on Tuesday, March 16 as they travel to face Erskine.
