Bearcats return to action with trip to Young Harris

GREENWOOD – The Lander men's basketball team returns to action as it travels to Young Harris to resume the season on Monday.

STORYLINES

· This will be the first game for the Bearcats since losing to Augusta on January 20. Lander fell 78-73. Senior Sidney Robinson scored 31 points off the bench.

· This contest against Young Harris was originally supposed to be played on January 30.

· Through their nine games this season, Lander is scoring 77.1 points per game, which includes 45.4 percent from the floor and 33.1 percent from beyond the arc.

· Senior Deon Berrien and junior Jermaine Patterson share the scoring title for the Bearcats, both with 14.7 points per game.

· Senior DaJuan Moorer is leading the Bearcats in rebounds with 7.8 per game along with a team-high 1.6 blocks per game. Patterson is the assist leader for the Bearcats with 3.8. Junior Jared Sherfield is close behind with 3.3 assists per game.

· Even with the four-game absence, Lander has the fourth-highest points per game among PBC schools (77.1).

· Patterson and Berrien are both in the top-10 in scoring average with their 14.7 points per game.

· Berrien is tied for seventh in the PBC with his 7.8 rebounds per game.

· Robinson is currently fourth in the PBC with an average of 3.1 3-pointers made per game.

· Patterson is ninth in the PBC with his 3.8 assists per game.

· Young Harris is currently on a two-game winning streak, as Mountain Lions have defeated Columbus State and Augusta in their last two games.

· The Mountain Lions are 3-0 at home this year while 1-4 on the road.

· They are averaging 77.3 points per game while allowing 74.4, good for a scoring margin of +2.9

· Lander defeated Young Harris in non-conference play earlier this season 83-66 on January 4 at Horne Arena.
