MARS HILL, N.C. - Lander out shot Mars Hill 25-1 and did not allow a shot on goal as the Bearcats defeated the Lions 3-0 Wednesday night.
Despite outshooting the Lions 11-1 in the first half, Lander could not find the back of the first 30 minutes of the game. However, in the 32nd minute, Maren White put the Bearcats on the board with her sixth goal of the season on assists from Katie Arthur and Romie Llewellyn.
Annika Seifart would give Lander some breathing room when she connected on a goal on a pass from Arthur. White added her second goal of the night in the 72 minute to round out the scoring for the Bearcats. After a solid first half that allowed just one shot, the Lander defense tightened up even more to keep Mars Hill from getting any shots in the second half.
