ALBANY, Ga. - After being held to just nine shots in a 2-0 loss to North Georgia Wednesday night, the Bearcats had 32 shots, including 12 on goal as they defeated Albany State 4-0 Saturday afternoon.
In the eighth minute, Maren White got Lander on the board when she used her head off a corner kick by Katie Arthur. Kaleigh Bollig made it a 2-0 game when she scored on an assist by Mary Moosbrugger in the 21st minute.
The Bearcats came out in the second half and put the game away. Mia Piazza assisted on a goal by Romie Llewellyn to make it a three-goal lead for Lander. Annika Seifart finished the scoring for the Bearcats when she took a give and go from Kelcie Fisher in the 66th minute. The Bearcat defense did not allow a single shot by the Golden Rams to get the shutout.
