STORYLINES
· Although falling to Georgia Southwestern in their last game, the Bearcats saw six players hit figures in scoring. Senior Deon Berrien led the way with 16 points and 12 rebounds. Redshirt Junior Zane Rankin (13), senior LaRaymond Spivery (11), freshman Sebastian Augustave (11) junior Jermaine Patterson (10) and senior DaJuan Moorer (10) were the other five.
· Moorer also had 12 rebounds to join Berrien with a double-double. The last time the Bearcats had two double-doubles in a single game was the season opener last year against Anderson. Moorer and Elijah Alston were the Bearcats to record them in that game.
· Lander has seen at least three players hit double figures scoring in every game this season along with at least five in back-to-back games.
· The Bearcats have four players ranked among the PBC top-10 in various categories.
· Patterson is In the top-10 for scoring average, field-goal percentage, free-throw percentage, assists per game and assists. He leads the conference in total assists with 20.
· Moorer is in the top-10 for total rebounds, rebounds per game, blocks per game and total blocks. Moorer is first in the conference in total blocks with 11 and is fourth in Div. II in total blocks.
· Berrien is in the top-10 for total rebounds, total assists, blocks per game and total blocks. His eight blocks this season are only second to Moorer in the conference and is tied for the 17th most in Div. II.
· Augustave is fourth in the PBC in 3-pointer field-goal percentage.
· Turnovers continue to plague the Bearcats early this season, as they have the second-worst turnover margin (-5.8) in the conference.
· Clayton State is 0-1 on the season after losing to UNC Pembroke in its season and conference opener 93-72.
· The Lakers were led by Justin Figueroa and Daniel Melvin who both scored 13 points.
· Lander defeated Clayton State in the lone game last season 92-77 at Finis Horne Arena. The Bearcats were led by senior Sidney Robinson's 19 points off the bench. Robinson also posted four assists and one assist and rebound.
· The Lakers went 7-20 overall last season along with owning a 5-15 record in conference.
· Clayton State is without four of their five top scorers from last season, with Richardo Saams Jr. the remaining player from that group on the roster.
