PEMBROKE, N.C. – The Lander wrestling team travels to UNC Pembroke this weekend for the 2020 NCAA Super Region II Championships.

STORYLINES

• Super Region II is comprised of 11 teams – Belmont Abbey, Coker, Davis & Elkins, Emmanuel, King, Lander, Limestone, Mount Olive, Newberry, Queens, and UNC Pembroke.

• The top three finishers at each weight class this weekend will advance to the NCAA Division II National Championships on March 13-14 in Sioux Falls, S.D. 

• Austin Ross, William Olivas, Elijah Gray, Chandler Smalley, Bryson Ethington, Angel Hernandez, Brice Harkness, Myles Starke, Darius Parker, and Cameron Coffman are competing for the Bearcats. 

• Five Bearcats are ranked in their respective weight classes in the region. Olivas (133), Hernandez (165), and Parker (197) are all fourth, while Starke (184) and Coffman (285) are fifth.

• As a team, Lander is ranked seventh in the region.
