MILLEDGEVILLE, Ga. – The Lander women's tennis team dropped its Peach Belt Conference opener on Friday afternoon, falling to Georgia College 6-1 in a road match. 

Lander (3-6, 0-1 PBC) earned a point at No. 1 singles as Eduarda Ferreira won a 7-5, 2-6, 10-6 decision to remain unbeaten at the No. 1 position this season, but the Bobcats (5-2, 2-0 PBC) came away with the doubles point and earned straight-set wins at the other five singles spots. 

The Bearcats face NAIA power Georgia Gwinnett on Saturday afternoon.
