BLUFFTON, S.C. – The Lander women's golf team wrapped up play at the Low Country Invitational on Tuesday, finishing fourth thanks to a final score of 629.
Hannah Stephenson tied for first at the event with a 7-over 149 total, falling to Western Michigan's Jasmine Chee in a playoff. Stephenson becomes the second Bearcat to tie for first at an event this season, along with Caroline Hardee, who tied for first at the rained-shortened Cutter Creek Invitational in September.
Hardee was Lander's second-best finisher, tying for 11th on the week with a total of 156. Madison Jordan shot Lander's best round on Tuesday, using a 4-over 75 to finish in a tie for 24th. Hannah Fesperman and Caroline Jenkins rounded out the card for the Bearcats, tying for 40th and finishing 58th, respectively.
Western Michigan captured the team title with a two-round total of 619, followed by Flagler at 623 and UNC Pembroke at 624. Stephenson was named to the all-tournament team.
Lander returns to action on Mar. 16, as it heads to Hilton Head for the Terrier Intercollegiate.
