Box Score YOUNG HARRIS, Ga. – The No. 11-ranked Lander men's soccer team erased a 2-0 deficit at Young Harris, but a second-half goal handed the Bearcats a 3-2 loss on Saturday night.
Lander (6-3-2, 2-1 PBC) fell behind just 48 seconds into the match as the Mountain Lions (8-3, 2-1 PBC) grabbed the early lead and doubled their advantage with a goal in the 15th minute to make the score 2-0.
The Bearcats responded quickly as George Knight scored off a Jed Smith assist just 77 seconds later to put Lander on the board. Max McNulty tied the match at the 39:53 mark with a shot that ricocheted off the right post and into the net.
Neither team would score again until the 75th minute, when Seba Andreassen followed up a save by Jacob Withers to net the game-winning goal for YHC.
Lander is back in action Wednesday night as the Bearcats host Carson-Newman at 7:00 p.m. at Van Taylor Stadium.
