Box Score

AIKEN, S.C. – The Lander baseball team dropped the second game of its Peach Belt Conference series at USC Aiken on Saturday afternoon, falling 10-2 to the Pacers.

Lander (14-30, 7-19 PBC) took a 1-0 lead in the top of the first inning on a sacrifice fly from Nathan Schreckengost that plated Mike Fitschen, but USCA (28-16, 19-7 PBC) scored five runs over the next four innings to take a 5-1 lead.

The Bearcats cut into the lead as Bo Richey reached on a error in the fifth inning and later scored on an RBI single from Fitschen, but could not quiet the USC Aiken bats. The Pacers scored a run in seven of the eight innings they came to the plate, including each of their final six frames, to clinch the series.

Christian Aragon (7-1) earned the win, allowing two unearned runs on three hits with two walks and 10 strikeouts in 6.0 innings. Joseph Whitt (1-3) was tagged with the loss, surrendering eight runs on nine hits with one walk and six strikeouts in 5.1 innings of work.
