GREENWOOD – The Lander women's tennis team could not overcome one of the nation's top teams on Friday afternoon as the Bearcats fell to No. 3 Columbus State, 9-0, at the Joe Cabri Tennis Center.
Lander (3-3, 0-1 PBC) was unable to take a set from the Cougars (5-0, 1-0 PBC) as Columbus State remained unbeaten on the year. Lander won three games at the No. 2 doubles spot and Lindsey Wiggins captured four games before falling at No. 3 singles.
The Bearcats face two more conference opponents this weekend. Lander hosts Georgia Southwestern on Saturday afternoon before tangling with Georgia College on Sunday.
