GREENWOOD - The North Georgia women's tennis team won two doubles matches and four singles Saturday afternoon to defeat Lander, 6-3 in a Peach Belt Conference match at The Joe Cabri Tennis Center.

North Georgia improves to 11-6 overall and 3-4 in the PBC, while Lander moves to 5-8, 1-8.

In singles, No. 1 Kathrin Waidner (NG) def. Ivanka Mocic (L) 5-7, 6-0, 6-3; No. 2 Karina Gurgenyan (NG) def. Yuriko Ono (L) 7-6, 6-3; No. 3 Anni Poikola (L) def. Sandra Ungricht (NG) 6-4, 7-5; No. 4 Mathilde Baartvedt (NG) def. Caroline Yodice (L) 6-3, 6-2; No. 5 Simone Krog (NG) def. Renata Mello (L) 3-6, 7-5, 10-6; and No. 6 Lauren French (L) def. Lexa Rae Loden (NG) 6-0, 6-2.

In doubles, No. 1 Yuriko Ono/Anni Poikola (L) def. Karina Gurgenyan/Sandra Ungricht (NG) 8-3; No. 2. Kathrin Waidner/Emma Etelalahti (NG) def. Maggie Elliott/Ivanka Mocic (L) 9-7; and No. 3 Simone Krog/Mathilde Baartvedt (NG) def. Caroline Yodice/Lauren French (L) 8-3.

Lander will host PBC foe Young Harris at 1:30 p.m., Sunday, April 3, in their final home match of the season.
