AUGUSTA, Ga. - The No. 36 Augusta University women's tennis team handed Lander its first loss of the season Wednesday afternoon when the Jaguars claimed a 6-3 victory in a Peach Belt Conference match at the Newman Tennis Center.

Augusta improves to 6-1 overall and 2-1 in the PBC, while Lander moves to 2-1, 0-1.

In singles, No. 1 Yuriko Ono (L) def. Brooke Durden (A) 6-4, 6-2; No. 2 Monica Gonzalez (A) def. Anni Poikola (L) 6-4, 3-6, 10-5; No. 3 Maria C. Pimentel (A) def. Ivanka Mocic (L) 6-0, 6-3; No. 4 Gisela Font (A) def. Caroline Yodice (L) 6-1, 6-4; No. 5 Maria Nadal (A) def. Renata Mello (L) 6-3, 6-1; and No. 6 Lauren French (L) def. Amelia Pinoargote (A) 4-6, 6-4, 10-8.

In doubles, No. 1 Maggie Elliott/Ivanka Mocic (L) def. Brooke Durden/Maria C. Pimentel (A) 8-6; No. 2 Monica Gonzalez/Amelia Pinoargote (A) def. Yuriko Ono/Caroline Yodice (L) 8-0; and No. 3 Gisela Font/Maria Nadal (A) def. Lauren French/Renata Mello (L) 8-3.
