GREENWOOD – Colby Lusignan homered and Taylor Kellner had four hits, helping the No. 32 Lander Bearcats complete a three-game Peach Belt Conference sweep over No. 37 Flagler College 5-4 Sunday afternoon at Dolny Stadium.

Lander improved to 7-2 overall, 3-0 in the PBC. The Saints fell to 1-4, 0-3.

The Bearcats took a 2-0 lead in the first when Zach Daly singled, stole second, moved to third on the catcher's wild throw, and scored when Flagler's left fielder lost Thomas Berry's fly ball in the sun for a double. John Mangum struck out but reached first base on another wide throw by the catcher, and scored on Kellner's single off the glove of the second baseman who was attempting a back-handed play.

The Saints pulled within 2-1 in the second when Igor Baez reached on an error, moved to second on Cole Ondrejka's single, the runners advanced to second and third on James Jean's sacrifice bunt, and Bryce Evans drove in the run with a ground out to second.

Lander increased its lead to 3-1 in the fourth when Kellner singled and scored on a double down the left-field line by Will Jones.

The Bearcats took a 4-1 lead in the fifth on Lusignan's third homer of the season, a solo shot over the right-field fence.

Kellner's fourth hit of the game – a two-out, bases-loaded single to right – made it 5-1 in the seventh.

Flagler pulled within 5-4 in the top of the eighth with three runs, including an error on a possible double play ball that produced two runs, and an RBI single by Baez.

Lander starter J.D. Waite (2-0) pitched 7.2 innings, allowing five hits, four runs, all unearned, one walk and five strikeouts. Brandon White pitched 1.1 innings of scoreless relief for his fourth save of the season.

Kellner was 4-for-4 with three singles and a triple, Berry went 2-for-4 and Lusignan was 1-for-3 with a homer.
