Box Score YOUNG HARRIS, Ga. - C.J. Wilson drained a three-pointer with 19 seconds remaining Wednesday night to lead the Young Harris men's basketball team to a 73-69 Peach Belt Conference victory over Lander.
The Mountain Lions improve to 7-7 overall and 5-0 in the PBC, while Lander moves to 10-4, 4-1.
With the game winding down, Marques McKoy gave the Mountain Lions a 69-67 lead with 1:06 remaining on a three-point play. But Lander's JR Washington tied the game up with a layup at 69-all with just 46 seconds remaining.
Following Wilson's three, which made it 72-69, teammate Ben Waterhouse made the second of two free throws with 10 seconds left to finalize the scoring.
Tobiasz Hose posted a double-double to lead the Lander attack with 14 points, 12 rebounds and five assists. Washington added 13 points, six rebounds and three steals; Sergio Smith 12 points and five rebounds; and Tyree King 10 points and three assists.
For Young Harris, Wilson knocked down a game-high 33 points, five rebounds, six assists and five steals; Waterhouse 16 points and four assists; and J.B. Charles 14 points and five rebounds.
The Bearcats were 28-of-61 from the field (45.9 percent), including 2-of-16 from the three-point line (12.5 percent), and 11-of-14 from the foul line (78.6 percent).
Lander, which led at halftime, 33-28, outrebounded the Mountain Lions, 37-34.
Young Harris made 23-of-53 floor shots (43.4 percent), including 10-of-21 threes (47.6 percent), and 17-of-26 free throws (65.4 percent).
The Bearcats will next travel to Augusta University for a PBC contest at 3:30 p.m., Saturday, Jan. 9 in Christenberry Fieldhouse.
