Box Score GREENWOOD - The Lander women's basketball team placed five players in double figures Saturday afternoon and won its third straight game when the Lady Bearcats defeated North Georgia, 76-66, in a Peach Belt Conference game at Horne Arena.
Lander, which travels to Francis Marion on Wednesday, improves to 15-6 overall and 9-3 in the PBC, while North Georgia drops to 13-8, 5-7.
Bre Crum, Sannayyiah Johnson and Lea Petit led Lander with 11 points each, while Ty'Hesha Reynolds and Breshay Johnson netted 10 apiece. Crum added a team-high seven rebounds and had seven steals, while Mylea McKenith and Ashleigh Zandi each dished off five assists.
North Georgia's Cierra Jackson and Lauren Pounds shared game-high scoring honors with 14 points each, while Jordan Livesay added 11 points and Kelsey Hutchins 10. Jackson completed her double-double with a game-high 15 rebounds.
The Lady Bearcats, who recorded 18 steals and forced 32 turnovers, connected on 28-of-65 field goals (43.1 percent), including 7-of-26 three pointers (26.9 percent), and 13-of-23 foul shots (56.5 percent).
North Georgia was 24-of-57 from the floor (42.1 percent), including 7-of-22 threes (31.8 percent), and 11-of-15 free throws (73.3 percent).
After leading 38-32 at halftime, Lander outscored the Nighthawks, 22-15 in the third quarter, and 19-16 in the fourth to secure the victory.
Reynolds, a junior, is now six points shy of reaching the 1,000-point milestone.
