Box Score 2 CHARLOTTE, N.C. – The Lander volleyball team kept its unbeaten season going Saturday afternoon when the Bearcats blanked both King College and Catawba College, 3-0, at the University of Queens' Fall Invitational.
The Bearcats downed King College, 26-24, 25-23, 25-22, then shut out Catawba, 25-21, 25-19, 25-20.
Against King, Tarryn Angermeier led the Lander attack with 10 kills, while Ali Kirk had 20 assists, Sophia Perkins 10 assists,and Julia Ferreira-Alves 18 digs.
King was led by Lauren Willoughby (13 kills), Olivia Underwood (35 assists, 14 digs), and Amy Serowski (12 digs).
Against Catawba, Angermeier and Khiani Kelly had 11 and 10 kills respectively, while Kirk added 21 assists, Perkins 15 assists and Ferreira-Alves 16 digs.
Catawba was paced by Erin Morant (10 kills), Kaytee Frabotta (22 assists) and Evan Schultz (10 digs).
Lander nets travels to Southern Wesleyan for a 7 p.m. non-conference contest on Tuesday, Sept. 8
