COLUMBUS, Ga. - The No. 35 Lander women's tennis team suffered its first loss of the season Monday afternoon when No. 8 ranked Columbus State defeated the Lady Bearcats, 9-0, in a Peach Belt Conference match at the Blackmon Tennis Center.

Columbus State improves to 9-0 overall and 6-0 in the PBC, while Lander slips to 4-1, 3-1.

In singles, No. 1 Beatriz Leon (C) def. Marion Courbis (L) 6-1, 7-6; No. 2 Kirsa Utech (C) def. Gabrielle Woodson (L) 7-5, 6-1; No. 3 Giorgia Vitale (C) def. Elise Sancelme (L) 6-3, 6-4; No. 4 Olivera Tadijin (C) def. Ivanka Mocic (L) 6-0, 6-1; No. 5 Camila Tobar (C) def. Anni Poikola (L) 6-3, 6-2; and No. 6 Saravinder Pannu (C) def. Alyssa Savill (L) 6-1, 6-2.

In doubles, No. 1 Beatriz Leon/Giorgia Vitale (C) def. Marion Courbis/Ivanka Mocic (L) 8-0; No. 2 Kirsa Utech/Camila Tobar (C) def. Elise Sancelme/Maggie Elliott (L) 8-1; and No. 3 Olivera Tadijin/Elena Preadca (C) def. Alyssa Savill/Renata Mello (L) 9-7.
