Box Score 2 GREENWOOD - The Lander volleyball team splits its games Friday afternoon with non-conference foes Lincoln Memorial University and Tusculum College during the first day of the PBC/SAC Crossover at Horne Arena. The Bearcats fell to Tusculum, 3-2, in the opener, then defeated LMU, 3-1, in the nightcap.
Lander moves to 16-5 overall. The Bearcats will face Carson-Newman at 12 Saturday in the opener and then play Mars Hill University at 3.
Against Tusculum, the Bearcats Sophia Perkins and Kendall Korte led the way with double-doubles. Perkins posted 30 assists and 11 digs, while Korte had 12 kills and 20 digs. Halle Dotson added 14 kills, Ali Kirk 18 assists, Julia Ferreira-Alves 36 digs, Kaitlyn Harrison 20 digs, Mallory Taylor 16 digs, Tarryn Angermeier 10 kills, and Reyonia Whipple six blocks.
Tusculum was paced by Rachel Garnett (14 kills), Sabrina Schleuger (13 kills, 21 digs), Mariah Lewis (12 kills), Sarah Bouley (11 kills, 17 digs), Laryssa Welch (10 kills), Hannah Berling (48 assists, 17 digs), and Melissa Mazur (44 digs).
Against Lincoln Memorial, Korte added another double-double with 11 kills and 15 digs. Angermeier added 11 kills and six block assists, Dotson 10 kills, Perkins 32 assists, Ferreira-Alves 24 digs, Harrison 16 digs and Taylor 13 digs. Dotson chipped in five blocks, while Whipple and Korte contributed four each.
LMU was led by Kiera Holland (11 kills, 14 digs), Liz Brock 11 kills, Bristol Snider (20 assists, 11 digs), Abby Cash (20 assists, 10 digs), Casey Mense (17 digs), and Brook Fleeman (10 digs).
