DAHLONEGA, Ga. - The No. 13 Lander men's soccer team registered its sixth shutout of the season Wednesday night when the Bearcats claimed a 2-0 Peach Belt Conference victory over the University of North Georgia.

Lander improves to 12-2 overall and 6-2 in the PBC, while UNG drops to 4-10-2, 2-5-1.

Oliver Brock netted his first score of the season at 70:39 to give the Bearcats a 1-0 lead when he controlled the ball in a scuffle in front of the goal.

Steven Gonzalez then netted an insurance goal when he headed in a deflected Sam Lofts' shot at 77:26.

North Georgia outshot Lander, 17-13, but Lander led in corner kicks, 5-1.

Lander goalkeeper Barrett Nielsen, this week's PBC Goalkeeper of the Week, totaled six saves, while the North Georgia's Victor Ohlin had five.

The Bearcats will next host Francis Marion at 1 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 31, at Van Taylor Stadium.
