YOUNG HARRIS, Ga. – The No. 13-ranked Lander baseball team held Young Harris College to just two hits Sunday afternoon and completed its three-game Peach Belt Conference series sweep of the Mountain Lions, 12-2, at Zell B. Miller Field.

The Bearcats improve to 13-1 overall and 5-1 in the PBC, while Young Harris drops to 6-8, 0-3.

Mason McCullough (1-0) earned the win for Lander, striking out nine, walking two and allowing two earned runs on one hit in five innings pitched.

The Mountain Lions' Taylor Topping (1-2) was tagged with the loss after striking out three, walking two and allowing seven earned runs on 10 hits in 3.1 innings.

Lander took a 3-0 lead in the first inning when Thomas Berry singled in Patrick Grady, and Graham Ramos' triple plated Berry and Connor Lewis.

The Bearcats stretched the lead to 6-0 in the second on Erik Lunde's sacrifice fly and RBI doubles by Grady and Berry.

The Bearcats made it 8-0 with one run each in the third and fourth innings after Thomas Bess scored on a failed pickoff attempt and Lawing drove in Lewis.

Young Harris cut the lead to 8-2 in the sixth on a sacrifice fly by Adam Moore and an RBI single by Jack Morrow.

Lander erupted for four more runs in the eighth. Lunde went home via a hit by pitch on Berry, Lawing doubled in Lewis and Grady, and Ramos drove in Berry with an RBI single.

For Lander, Grady batted 4-for-5, Lawing 3-for-5 and Lunde and Berry 2-for-4.
