Box Score SAVANNAH, Ga. – Jareal Smith netted a game-high 22 points Monday night to lead the Lander men's basketball team to a 68-61 Peach Belt Conference victory over Armstrong Atlantic.
Lander, which outrebounded the Pirates, 44-32, improves to 15-9 overall and 9-6 in the PBC, while Armstrong falls to 8-16, 5-12.
Smith connected on 7-of-14 field goals, including 4-of-7 threes, and 4-of-7 free throws. JR Washington added a double-double with 13 points and 10 rebounds, while Mario Pendarvis had 13 points.
Hichem Benayad-Cherif led Armstrong with 12 points, Kenny Bellinger II had 10 points, and Eric Eversley nine points and 16 rebounds.
Lander connected on 24-of-54 field goals (44.4 percent), including 9-of-21 three pointers (42.9 percent), and 11-of-18 foul shots.
Armstrong, which led, 33-32 at halftime, made 20-of-59 floor shots (33.9 percent), including 6-of-27 threes (22.2 percent), and 15-of-22 free throws (68.2 percent).
