Box Score SAVANNAH, Ga. – The seventh-seeded Flagler volleyball team advanced to Saturday's Peach Belt Conference Tournament championship game when it upset No. 6 Lander, 3-1, in a semifinal match at Armstrong State University's ARC. Game scores were: 28-30, 25-15, 25-23, 25-16.
Flagler improves to 16-15, while Lander slips to 22-10 overall. The Bearcats will have to wait until Sunday night to see if they earn an at-large bid into the Southeast Regional tournament.
Kendall Korte led four Lander players in double figures in kills with 13, while Tarryn Angermeier had 12, Sydney Tracy 11 and Kate Schwartz 10. Jessica Register chipped in a double-double with 44 assists and 10 digs, Sarah Bradley 19 digs, Julia Ferreira-Alves 15, and Kaitlyn Harrison 13. Angermeier was named to the PBC all-tournament team.
Flagler was led by Genel Sturgeon (17 kills), Sara Davis (16 kills), Taja Valmyr (13 kills, 25 digs), Megan Hooks (12 kills), Ashley Cheewah (11 kills), Amelia Morgan (65 assists, 11 digs), Ashley Lechleidner (18 digs), Caitlyn Kovach (14 digs), and Amber Peone (11 digs).
