TIGERVILLE, S.C. – Senior Hannah Dederick had a game-high 11 kills Friday afternoon to lead the Lander volleyball team to a 3-0 season-opening victory over Brevard College in a non-conference match in the North Greenville Invitational at Hayes Gymnasium. Game scores were, 25-17, 25-10, 25-19.

Lander is 1-0 on the season, while the Tornados drop to 1-1.

In addition to Dederick, sophomore Tarryn Angermeier had six service aces, while junior setter Jessica Register added 12 assists, senior Kiki Hennessey 14 digs, and freshman Kristen Dodge 10 assists.

Brevard was paced by Erin Rollins (eight kills) and Kayla Hanus (15 assists, nine digs).

Lander will continue play in the tournament on Saturday when the Bearcats meet St. Augustine's at 10 a.m. and host North Greenville at noon.
