Box Score GREENWOOD – Kevin Durand netted three-first half goals and added one more in the second Saturday night to lead the No. 15 Lander men's soccer team to an 8-0 non-conference victory over North Greenville University at the Jeff May Complex.
Lander, which has yet to be scored up, remained unbeaten at 3-0, while North Greenville slips to 2-2.
Durand, who has four goals this season, gave the Bearcats a 1-0 lead when he scored on an assist from Clement Dauchy from directly from the right side of the goal.
Durand's second goal, assisted by Stephen Bray, came on a breakaway shot in front of the goal at 13:34.
Durand netted his third goal of the game off a missed Brett Jankouskas shot at 16:35, then Lander made it 4-0 at 23:53 when Brett Jankouskas scored off a Durand throw-in.
North Greenville goalkeeper DJ Baker kept Lander from scoring two more goals late in the first half when he had saves on back-to-back penalty kicks against Robert Seaton and Zach Acree.
Chris Hobbs made it 5-0 for the Bearcats on a penalty kick at 52:30, then Durand extended the lead to 6-0 on a free kick at 69:20.
Hobbs gave Lander a 7-0 lead when he scored from directly in front of the goal at 74:22 on an assist by Vincent Machado Da Luz. Clement Dauchy closed out the scoring with an unassisted goal with 52 seconds remaining in the game.
Lander outshot North Greenville 31-4, and led in corner kicks, 8-0.
Lander goalkeeper Barrett Nielsen had two saves, while Baker had 10.
