Box Score ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. - The No. 7 ranked Lander baseball team completed its Peach Belt Conference three-game series sweep of Flagler College Sunday when the Bearcats defeated the Saints 13-1 at Drysdale Field.
Lander improves to 8-2 overall and 3-0 in the PBC, while Flagler drops to 7-5, 0-3.
Logan Pemberton (3-0) was awarded the win for the Bearcats after striking out seven, walking three and allowing one earned run on five hits in seven innings pitched.
Flagler's Chris Patrick (2-1) took the loss with four strikeouts, three walks and six earned runs on seven hits in four innings on the mound.
Lander took a 4-0 lead in the first three innings when Erik Lunde scored on Patrick Grady's sacrifice fly in the first, Ian Harvey and Graham Ramos had RBI singles in the second and Weston Lawing doubled in Connor Lewis in the third.
After Flagler cut the Bearcat lead to 4-1 in the fourth on Jake Jacob's sacrifice fly, Lander added three more runs in the fifth on Lawing's two-RBI double and Colby Painter's RBI single for a 7-1 advantage.
The Bearcats produced another three-run inning in the seventh when Lawing went home from third on a throwing error, and Ramos had a two-RBI single.
Lander stretched its advantage to 11-1 in the eighth on Lawing's solo homer, then scored its final two runs in the ninth when Harvey scored from third on a dropped fly ball and Ramos went home on Lunde's RBI single.
For Lander, Lawing batted 3-for-5 with one homer and one double, Ramos 3-for-6, Jeff May 2-for-5 and Lunde 2-for-6 with one double.
